The European Commission has granted H2020 project AI4EU (Artificial Intelligence for the European Union – GA n°825619) with € 20 million which aims to set up an on-demand platform on artificial intelligence.
The project, led by Thales, brings together 79 partners in 21 different countries, including Wavestone, which is responsible for project management and governance.
AI4EU aims to provide services and support to potential users (SMEs, start-ups, entrepreneurs, scientists, industrials, venture capitalists, etc.) and to help them experimenting and integrating AI solutions in their processes, products and services. This platform, operational in 2019, will allow a greater visibility of the European ecosystem.
Eight pilots will be conducted over the next three years in the areas of cybersecurity, connected objects, robotics, industry, health, agriculture, media and citizenship.
AI4EU will also provide key elements for the future European strategic agenda on AI.
AI4EU kick-off meeting on 10-11 January 2019 in Barcelona
This 3-year project has been launched in Barcelona on January 10-11, 2019 with the participation of Lucilla Sioli (Director for Digital Industry at the EC) and Jordi Puigneró i Ferrer (Catalogne Ministry of Telecommunications). Wavestone co-organized and co-animated this 2-day meeting of general assembly, workshops and press briefings.
